The “Earth’s navel”, as Delphi was known, having been recognized as an “UNESCO World Heritage Site”, gathers a huge number of Greek and foreign visitors throughout the year.

During our tour, we will be taken to the unique archaeological museum of Delphi, with its great exhibits that bear witness to the rich history of the place. Such exhibits of worldwide fame and admiration are the one and only Hiniochos (work of 480 – 460 BC) and the Sphinx of Naxians (work of 560 BC).

Greek mythology

According to the ancient Greek mythology, Zeus left two eagles, one towards the East and one towards the West, which, after going around the world, met at Delphi making it the center of the world.

In Delphi the most important pan-Hellenic oracle of the ancient Greek world that was dedicated to the god Apollo was found, and Pythia, the respective Prothieria or High Priestess of the God Apollo, conveyed God’s oracle to the person concerned in a rather ambivalent way.
